Why We Exist

UNY1 started with a single question: why does every brand produce thousands of the same thing? We hunt rare, one-off pieces across surplus markets, archive rooms, and retiring workshops — pieces that were made once, not for scale, but for craft. Every item we list has a story that ends the moment it sells.

In a world drowned by fast fashion, scarcity isn't a gimmick — it's the point. When you buy from UNY1, nothing ships to a second buyer. No replenishment. No algorithm-driven restocks. The piece was made once. It will be owned once. That's the entire model: not a store, not a brand, just a very deliberate exchange between a rare thing and the one person who deserves to own it.

2022

First sourcing trip. Tokyo surplus markets. 12 pieces found, 12 listed, 12 sold in 6 days. No ads, no budget.

2023

First official drop. 8 pieces, ₹2.4 lakh in 4 hours. The domain was bought the night before.

2023

7-day try-on policy introduced. If it doesn't fit your body, full refund — no questions, no guilt.

2024

50 pieces sourced. 50 sold. GMV crossed ₹1Cr. Still no warehouse. Still no team. Just the hunt.

2025

Deadstock division. An Osaka warehouse deal surfaced 8 NOS pieces sealed since 2019. All gone in 48 hours.

2026

New store. Better tools. Same rules: one piece, one owner, never restocked.

Arjun spent six years in supply chain before realising he was moving things that didn't matter — volumes, SKUs, units. UNY1 is the opposite of that. It's a deliberate hunt for things that do: objects with provenance, with a single story, with nowhere left to go except one person's wardrobe.

He operates alone. Every piece is personally sourced, inspected, and photographed. There is no team, no warehouse, no supply partner. Just the hunt.
